- I had a similar problem with my American style fridge freezer which must be about the same age. Upon dismantling the inside I found the the polystyrene insulation had ice in it and had swollen stopping the fan from moving. I am now looking for a replacement panel, the fridge is fine when the ice is removed but it comes back within a couple of weeks.
- I don't have the answer but the same problem: I wonder if you managed to solve it in any way? We defrosted the fridge and the noise stopped for a few days but now it is back again. It happened once before and we had someone come to repair it: I think he replaced a motor or a fan. I don't want to keep reparing it as in the end it'll cost little less than a new fridge. What solution did you find?

My Samsung Cool Tech Plus Fridge Freezer became very noisy and then the noise stopped and the x-flow indicator on front stopped lighting up. 1 Answer
model says it has an air mixing flow system SR-L628EV. Water and ice are now gathering in the bottom of the fridge and have to be cleared out periodically.

My fridge and freezer are both warm at the top. Is this because the fan has broke down and not circulating properly. I have stripped it down and the fan looks easy enough to replace. I don't want to make a purchase without a second opinion though. 1 Answer

The problem is likely to be due to no circulation of the cold air. This is usually a defrost problem see our video: How to diagnose a fault with a frost free fridge freezer http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/2/2113/how-to-diagnose-a-fault-with-a-frost-free-fridge-freezer

If the lights and fan are working but it is not cooling at all it suggests a compressor fault. This may make a quiet click at the back and another 5 to 10 seconds later before repeating in about a minute. If you hear this it is almost guaranteed It will require a systems engineer to replace and regas the appliance.
Purchased in Australia in 2002 and has worked perfectly since arriving back in UK 2010. However, whilst Freezer works the Refigerator is constantly frosting up and freezes items in bottom salad container. Believe the evaporation fan is defective. You fan motor Part No. ES644120 is an exact match to my existing fan, however, I will also need the actual fan plus the motor. Will this fit my model. Many thanks

The problem is not likely to be the fan motor but a fault with the defrost heater fitted to the evaporator or the thermal fuse if fitted. Defrost and check the heater with a meter for continuity of less than 300 ohms, replace if it measures open circuit.
We have defrosted everything and it's kind of cooling but the display is showing a blinking green light in the fridge part (base of the right hand 8). Samsung say this means there's a problem with the fan in the fridge. Do you advise replacing the fan motor? I'm not sure I want to spend £85 on the service man to come and tell me what I think I already know?...

This fridge can suffer from ice build up and has a repair kit to prevent this occurring Stock Number: ES1406833. Fully defrost before removing the cover. Fit the brackets onto the back of the upper mounting screws, replace and move the sensor to the far left of the pipework and reset codes as per the instructions. Check and replace the defrost heater if required.
I have a problem with my Samsung DA99-00530A. I have power to the RS21FCNS fridge freezer as the lights inside are working, however, the motor appears not to be working as it is not cooling or freezing and there is no sound. It was bought in 2005 is this 1 Answer

Hi there, it sounds as if the motor has failed - I'd recommend replacing.
This is the second time the motor fan has seized up as there is build up of ice. Is there any thing else that may need replacing??

Hi Jessvir I'm afraid that without actually seeing your Samsung RS21DCNS fridge freezer, it is impossible to tell what is causing this problem. What I would advise is talking to your local Samsung or refrigerator specialist and they should be able to diagnose the problem for you. And that's where we come in! With hundreds of Samsung spares, we're bound to have the part for you.
Will this part fit my appliance?
